Renal Unit

The Nairobi Hospital has a seven bedded specialised unit providing haemodialysis for patients with renal failure. It is a day unit providing services as follows: Monday-Friday 7.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. Saturday 7.00 a.m. – 1.00 p.m (for ward emergencies only) Sunday Closed The unit serves both admitted and outpatients. Patients are under the care of a Nephrologist of their choice i.e. Kidney specialist. |
Meals are provided according to appointment times.
The unit offers Bicarbonate dialysis using Gambro A-K 95 machines for conventional type of dialysis. For critical patients, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy is available.
All new patients are required to have a haemodialysis screen of HIV and Hepatitis B and C.
