Principal – School of Nursing
Rose has worked at the Nairobi Hospital for the last thirteen years. She holds a Masters of Science Degree in Nursing from the American World University, Diploma in Advanced Nursing from the University of Nairobi, Registered Nurse, Midwife and Community health Nurse Diplomas from the K.M.T.C Nairobi.

She has worked as In – charge of Medical, Surgical, Accident and Emergency unit at Siaya District Hospital, Maternity and Pediatric unit in Kericho District Hospital, and as a Lecturer at the K.M.T.C Nairobi. Rose is a board member of the Nursing Council of Kenya, Chairman of the National Nurses Association of Kenya (NNAK) – the Nairobi Hospital branch, member of East Central and southern Africa College of Nursing (ECSACON) and International Council of Nurses (ICN). She has a wide experience in teaching and practical nursing.

She attended the ICN Quadrennial conference in Taiwan and the meeting of the East African Community (EAC) nursing and Midwives councils and Associations held in Zanzibar, Tanzania.

Margaret W. Sirma

Lecturer Post Basic

She has worked at the Nairobi Hospital for the last seven years. She holds a Masters degree in Psychology from Daystar University. She also holds an advanced diploma in nursing and is a Kenya Registered nurse and midwife. She has a certificate in Reproductive health, Infection control and population management. Margaret is a member of the National Nurses Association (NNAK) and ECSACON.

She is also an alumni and a coordinator of E-Learning module. A part from Nairobi hospital, she also worked at Pumwani Maternity hospital as a Lecturer in the school of Midwifery where she mentored nursing students from both Nairobi University and Memorial hospital. She has also been a Lecturer at the Mater hospital school of Midwifery.

Joyce Mbedha

Joyce Mbedha
Lecturer

She holds and advanced diploma in Nursing from the University of Nairobi and Bachelor of Science (BScN) degree from the Aga Khan University. She is a member of the National Nurses Association of Kenya and ECSACON, the Regional Professional body.

She has worked at the Nairobi Hospital as a Lecturer, for the last seven years, KMTC as a Lecturer and the Ministry of Health in various capacities. She has been trained in various short courses and attended various local and regional Seminars, Workshops and Conferences. She is the Chairperson of the Nursing Process Committee in The Nairobi Hospital.

Horatius Musembi

Horatius Musembi
Lecturer

He has worked at the Nairobi Hospital as a Lecturer for the last four years. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Nairobi and he intends to start his masters in Public Health later this year at Kenyatta University. Prior to joining the Nairobi Hospital, he worked as a clinical instructor and care provider at the Aga Khan Hospital, Nairobi.

He has attained a wide experience from many workshops and in – service training. Currently, apart from basic nurse training, he is the electronic learning  course one coordinator. He was in – charge of post basic education for one and a half years till March 2006.

Judith OpondoJudith A. Apondo
Senior Lecturer

A dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with 28 years of experience. She is currently writing a thesis for MA (Trauma &Emergency Nursing) with University of South Africa (UNISA) Judith holds a Bachelors Degree in Nursing (AWU), Diploma in Advanced Nursing (UoN). Mrs.Apondo has undertaken short courses and holds certificates in the following areas; BLS (ToT), ACLS, ATLS and UPLS.

Prior to joining The Cecily McDoNell School f Nursing in the year 2004, she worked in Nakuru , Meru KMTC and in various hospitals as well as community settings. Judith has also attended local and regional seminars, workshops and conferences in various capacities. She is an associate member of Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) and serves as a  committee member of the National Nurses Association of Kenya -Nairobi Hospital Branch and Occupational Health and Safety-Nairobi Hospital.

Immaculate M. WambuguImmaculate M. Wambugu
Lecturer

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from the University of Nairobi and is currently on a Master of Nursing Program. She has worked at the Nairobi Hospital for four years. A member of ECSACON and the National Nurses Association of Kenya. She has also worked for Consolata Hospital Nyeri, Moi Referral Hospital and KMTC. She has attained a wide range of experience from in – service trainings local and regional, seminars and conferences.

 

Gladys M. Mbuthia
Lecturer

She holds a Bachelor of Nursing Degree from Moi University and is currently pursuing a Master of Nursing. She has 5 years of experience in nursing education. Prior to joining the Nairobi Hospital Cicely McDonnell School, she worked as a tutor and clinical nurse in Kijabe School of Nursing and Nyeri Provincial General Hospital respectively. She is a member of the National Nurses Association of Kenya and has attended various medical seminars, workshops and conferences.

Serah M. Nthenge

Serah M. Nthenge

Serah holds a Masters Degree in Nursing from Villanova University (USA) and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Baraton University. She is a Kenya Registered Nurse and a Midwife. She is a member of the National Nurses Association (NNAK)and Sigma Theta Tau International – Honor Society of Nursing – Alpha Nu Chapter (Pennsylvania USA). Prior to joining the Narobi Hospital, she has worked in Kijabe Hospital and Kijabe School of Nursing, Villanova University and Lui (South Sudan).
