 The antenatal clinic caters for expectant parents'; the mother's and baby's health is monitored, maintained and optimized to ensure a healthy pregnancy, safe delivery and post delivery period. The clinic helps to detect problems during pregnancy and arrest them so that they do not affect the health of the mother and baby.
The ante natal clinic is run by an obstetrician/gynecologist and experienced midwives who assist mothers as well as counsel them during pregnancy.
The Nairobi Hospital Midwife Package includes the following services:- Antenatal visits
- Prenatal investigations i.e. Laboratory tests and 1 ultrasound scan.
- Iron supplements
- Midwife's delivery charges
- Obstetrician's and Pediatrician's fee
- Pre and Post Natal standard drugs.
- Main Nursery stays for 3 days inclusive of vaccines given at birth.
The following clinic schedule is recommended for expectant mothers:
From 20 weeks - once every four weeks
From 30 weeks - once every two weeks
From 37 weeks - once every week
Maternity Package
Welcome to the Nairobi Hospital Maternity Package. All the members of our staff will work closely with you to develop a plan of care that meets your individual wishes and needs. Our philosophy encourages expectant families to be involved in planning and enjoying the events of pregnancy and childbirth in a safe, personalized comfortable setting.
The clinic midwives are the primary caregivers but also work in a team relationship with an Obstetrician and Pediatrician. Births are conducted by Midwives. An obstetrician is available in case of any complications arising.
All the other services of The Nairobi Hospital are available if required. In order to support you, we have prepared a special package that will help you plan for your delivery in advance.
Normal Delivery: KSHS 80,000
This Package includes: - Antenatal visits
- Prenatal investigations i.e. Laboratory tests and 1 ultrasound scan.
- Iron supplements
- Midwife's delivery charges
- Obstetrician's and Pediatrician's retainer fee back-up
- Pre and Post Natal standard drugs.
- Main Nursery charges for 3 days with vaccinations
The above package is payable in advance, up to day of admission. You can pay once or in installments. However, if you choose to occupy a private room, there will be an additional cost, which will be discussed with you prior to admission.
The only exemption to the above package will be in case of unforeseen complications during delivery.
Caesarean Section
Caesarean charges are Kshs 180,000 this includes:- Alls services offered in the Maternity package
- Doctor's fees
- Anesthetist fees
- Pediatrician fees
- Theatre fees
- Ward bed for 5 days
- 5 day course of recommended antibiotics if required.
Any other different medicine will be charged separately
Charges not Included in the Package
If during your pregnancy and delivery you require other treatments, surgery or hospitalization other than those included in the package offer, these will be charged at the cost of the treatment.- Medicines or vitamin supplements other than ferrous sulphate.
- Any other laboratory or X-ray tests other than prenatal investigations.
- Hospitalization during pregnancy other than delivery.
- Specialized treatments for mother or baby in case of sickness.
